Directory of Women's Periodicals in Asia and the Pacific was compiled by the Women's Information Network for Asia and the Pacific (WINAP) to facilitate the collection, exchange, and dissemination of information relating to women and development throughout the region. The directory was developed from questionnaires completed by national focal points and information contained in the ESCAP/WINAP database of women's periodicals. It contains information on 113 English-language periodicals published by women's organizations and related institutions in 19 countries of Asia and the Pacific. Each entry provides bibliographic and contact information, including title, publisher, address, publication frequency, ISSN where available, and year of first publication. The publication serves as an important networking and reference tool designed to strengthen communication among women's organizations, researchers, information centres, and development practitioners while encouraging wider dissemination of women's issues and concerns
