Annotated Bibliography on Policy and Programme Issues in the Field of Ageing is an ESCAP reference publication that compiles annotated literature on the social, economic, demographic, health and policy dimensions of population ageing, with particular emphasis on Asia and the Pacific. It brings together information from books, reports, journal articles, conference proceedings, government publications and international organization documents covering ageing policies, social security systems, health services, labour participation, family support, community care and welfare programmes for older persons. The second edition updates the earlier 1994 bibliography with more than 100 additional entries, including recent work on community care, productive ageing and older women in development. The publication was prepared by ESCAP's Social Development Division under a project supporting comprehensive national ageing policies and lifelong preparatory measures, including social security. Author and subject indexes are provided to facilitate access to over 300 annotated references addressing ageing issues at national, regional and international levels
