Annotated Bibliography on Policy and Programme Issues in the Field of Ageing was prepared by ESCAP to increase awareness of the social, economic and policy implications of population ageing in Asia and the Pacific. The publication compiles annotated references from government publications, monographs, journal articles, conference proceedings, research reports, training materials and international databases relating to ageing issues at national, regional and international levels. It covers a broad range of topics including population ageing, social security, retirement, health services, family support systems, employment, housing, welfare, legislation and policy development affecting older persons. The bibliography highlights demographic trends and emerging challenges arising from the growth of elderly populations and documents policy responses adopted in different countries. Through its extensive annotations and indexes, it serves as a reference tool for policymakers, researchers, programme planners and institutions concerned with ageing issues in the ESCAP region
