Care systems are increasingly recognized as essential social and economic infrastructure, yet countries continue to face challenges in financing, governing, institutionalizing and scaling care policies and services. This CSD9 side event will bring together government representatives from Africa, Asia and the Pacific, and Latin America and the Caribbean to exchange experiences and lessons on building inclusive and resilient care systems. The discussion will connect emerging evidence from ESCAP’s foresight work with country experience, with particular attention to governance, financing, institutional capacity, multi-level coordination and the partnerships needed to sustain progress over time.
