Gender Equity and Social Inclusion (GESI) Policy for Microfinance Institutions (MFIs)

This Gender Equity and Social Inclusion Policy has been developed with the Microfinance Institutions as a framework to help build and champion gender equity and social inclusion values and principles within their organisations. The Policy was developed through consultations, research and discussions with a wide range of stakeholders. MFIs have a unique and very important role to play in the economic and social development of Papua New Guinea as employers, financial service providers and as respected organisations. This policy is intended to be a flagship initiative in the financial sector to ensure gender equity and social inclusion principles and values are fully integrated in all aspects of our work towards financial inclusion.
